Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada!

We're very pleased to have the opportunity to host the event in this great city. Las Vegas is a unique and exciting destination, also widely known as the "Entertainment Capital of the World".

Our goal for 2009 is to have the best attended Convergence ever. To achieve this goal, we had to pick an exciting location and organize a conference with great events at the best possible value. The city's diverse and broad offerings in entertainment, transportation, and lodging made it the ideal location for an event like Convergence. The excitement level of Las Vegas precedes it. It is almost baked in, which made the decision easy.

Las Vegas can also stand out in value. During 2007 and 2008 the Convergence planning team traveled to Las Vegas to review possible host hotels with the best amenities and a great price. At $99 per night for an all-suites hotel with a casino we knew we hit the right point. Tuscany Suites & Casino gave us the ability to overwhelm the hotel with our guests and not the other way around.

The value from our host hotel offering in combination to the city of Las Vegas attraction for tourism provided the opportunity to offer a Convergence priced at the right level for a large turn-out, with an exceptional event experience. For this event, we are offering packages that are 20% to 40% less than previous similar-scale community events.

So, why Las Vegas? Because we want to party big, Vegas style, and that's what we call BiggerVegas! ....and you're invited!

Attractions and Entertainment

Las Vegas and the strip offer a wide array of attractions and entertainment possibilities for its visitors. From the magnetic draw of the Vegas strip with its variety of shows, to a wide assortment of dining options, as well as shopping, gambling, sightseeing (both in and out of the city), and overall fun atmosphere, the city of Las Vegas has a lot to offer.

The prominence and showcasing of all this along with the city's mystique and fun slogan "What happens here stays here.", has sealed the city as a top desired destination for many leisure travelers.

Gay & Chubby Vegas

Las Vegas has always been an accepting and welcoming for the GLBT community. Gay and Lesbian leisure traveler is an important group for Las Vegas, and as a result, you will find most resorts, attractions, and venues are sensitive to the communities needs. Many offerings you'll find in Las Vegas cater exclusively to gay travelers. You can find more information on sites like GayLasVegas.com (link above).

That said, be prepared to deal with major crowds and the peculiar way of resort life that the nearly ubiquitous gambling creates. For big "chubby" travelers, Las Vegas is welcoming, friendly and has a supportive infrastructure. But you should always plan for a dry, hot, desert climate when outdoors and keep hydrated. It's worth noting that all major resorts and hotels are fully air conditioned.

Looks can also be deceiving. To get to one end of one resort to another can take up to 30 minutes. While the hotels look close on the strip. Walking from one hotel to the next may take 45 minutes. All the strip hotel casinos and resorts are fully wheelchair or electrical vehicle friendly. Nearly all hotels on strip and off strip offer free valet parking. Always leave extra time to get to your pick-up and drop-off points, and remember there can be waits to get a valet car during peak periods.

Most restaurants and venues cater to a wide variety of body shapes by having armless chairs. Generally speaking many Las Vegas tourist attractions, restaurants, venues, and resorts are aware of the issues facing their largest customers. Chubby people are rarely escorted to a seat that would be inappropriate, however, you can always inquire about armless chairs before seating.

Theaters and shows often can accommodate people of size. You should always inquire about the size of the seats and the possibility of free standing chairs before you book.

Whatever your tastes are we want this to be a memorable event and look forward to hosting you BiggerVegas style!
